1. What this service is

BadgeGig is a scheduling and visibility portal for extra-duty (off-duty) police work. It helps officers, businesses, and Extra-Duty coordinators post, request, fill, and review gigs. BadgeGig is not the employer of officers, is not a party to any extra-duty employment contract unless a written agreement says otherwise, and does not process, hold, or guarantee payroll.

Use of the site is limited to authorized extra-duty work in a limited area surrounding the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Emergency services are not provided here. Call 911 for emergencies.

2. Timing and the clock we use

All dates and times displayed in BadgeGig are in Arizona Time (America/Phoenix). That clock controls start windows, end windows, requestor lead time, late cancellations, and whether a gig is treated as same-day, upcoming, or finished. A time shown in another time zone, on a calendar export, or in an email is not controlling if it disagrees with Arizona Time in the portal.

Posted start and end times are the planned window for a gig. They are not a promise that an officer will arrive at that minute, that coverage will be filled, or that a job will last exactly the estimated hours. Actual hours, early outs, weather holds, and site delays are determined at the job and recorded when coordinators complete the gig. You should not rely on a draft, requested, or unfilled posting as confirmed coverage.

Requestors may not submit a new request that starts before the configured days-out lead time. Same-day extra-duty requests are not available through this site for requestors. Coordinators may still create same-day gigs when Extra-Duty operations allow it. Submitting or viewing a request does not create a right to same-day coverage, a filled roster, or a particular officer.

If you cancel, drop, or arrive late, Extra-Duty policies for notice, replacement, and any late-cancel consequences apply. BadgeGig timestamps those actions in Arizona Time and may notify coordinators, but the platform is not responsible for unfilled time, overtime, or business loss caused by a late drop, no-show, or a request submitted too close to the start.

3. Pay, rates, and taxes

Hourly rates, estimated hours, and any business-pay amounts shown in BadgeGig are planning figures. They are not a guaranteed wage, invoice, or payment date. A rate may change if Extra-Duty policy, a coordinator override, or the completed roster requires it. Estimated hours can differ from hours actually worked.

Payment to officers is issued by Extra-Duty coordinators after the job ends and the gig is marked completed. BadgeGig does not collect card payments, hold funds in escrow, or remit wages. If a business has not paid Extra-Duty, if a roster is disputed, or if a gig is cancelled, payment may be delayed, reduced, or not issued. Officers and requestors agree that BadgeGig is not liable for unpaid, late, or incorrect extra-duty pay.

Officers perform extra-duty work as independent contractors or under the department’s extra-duty program, not as employees of BadgeGig. Any 1099 or other tax reporting is handled by the paying Extra-Duty office or the officer’s own records. You are responsible for your own taxes. Do not treat a BadgeGig screen, export, or receipt snapshot as official payroll, tax, or legal advice.

Pay disputes, missing hours, and invoice questions must be raised with Extra-Duty Coordination — not treated as a claim against the software. Completing a gig in the portal records a snapshot for operations; it does not by itself create a debt that BadgeGig must pay.

4. Accounts and acceptable use

You must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. Accounts lock after repeated failed sign-in attempts. Coordinators may approve, suspend, or close access. Do not use the site to request emergency coverage, misrepresent a job, scrape data, or interfere with other users’ gigs. Officer identity documents uploaded for access review are for Extra-Duty verification only.

5. No warranty and limit of liability

The site is provided “as is.” We do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free calendars, or that every open gig will be filled on time. To the fullest extent allowed by law, BadgeGig and its operators are not liable for lost profits, unpaid extra-duty wages, unfilled coverage, missed events, or indirect damages arising from scheduling, timing, or pay decisions made through or because of the portal. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, to use BadgeGig in the twelve months before the claim — which may be zero.

6. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless BadgeGig and Extra-Duty operators from claims arising out of your postings, requests, no-shows, late cancellations, pay disputes, or misuse of the site, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

7. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the extra-duty program or the software changes. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update is acceptance of the revised terms. Questions about the program, timing, or pay should go to Extra-Duty Coordination. Learn more about the product on our About us page.

These terms are a site policy for BadgeGig. They are not a substitute for department extra-duty rules, a union contract, or advice from your own lawyer. Governing law is the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
